South America – The beginning of our Trip – November 2013
Our trip through South America began with a trek across Isla del Sol. This wast to be a test of our strength and willingness to participate on what was to be the start of an incredible trip around the world. We started the day with a boat ride from Copacabana to the north of Isla del Sol to visit a ruin and then we trekked from the north to the south of the island where we were to stay for the evening. We encountered massive hills that seemed to be impossible to reach the top of but some how we made it up and down every one. We made it to the lovely Palla Khasa Ecological Hotel with tired aching muscles, sunburnt and dehydrated and this was just the beginning of our 3 month trip. We were well looked after that evening by Roberto and his lovely wife at the Palla Khasa Hotel. Roberto’s wife is a wonderful cook and made us a delicious 3 course meal and fresh lemonade to refuel us followed by a wonderful breakfast the next morning before we were taken on their boat back to Copacabana for the next stage of our adventure.
